Endangered talents

September 10, 2018

On Monday 3rd September, I encountered a sculpture of endangered rhino at Marble Arch in London. Rhinos are being decimated for their tusks.  Poaching slaughters Rhinos in Southern African countries to serve external demand: Rhino horns are an expensive traditional medicine in Vietnam. The Charity TUSK is raising awareness about this situation to inform the world and hopefully induce a positive change (enforced political choices) that will benefit the Rhinos. If nothing is done and the illicit trade of Rhino horns continues at the current rate, we may witness their extinction in a near future.

For some reasons, the situation of the Rhinos remained me of our hidden human talents. How many of your dreams are being slowly exterminated by fear? Lack of determination? Low self-esteem? Procrastination?  Difficult family situations? Challenging work environment? Limited finances? Health issues? Stress?

Is there a more painful silent agony than knowing that you could have done better? Could you live as a better version of yourself?  Not in comparison to anyone else, but just as an honest full self-expression. The social media pressure everyone to appear happy and busy doing interesting things. We are not referring to social appearances here. What are you saying to your reflect in the mirror? The biggest sabotage often happens in our conversation with ourselves.

That dialogue that nobody hears. No one to witness the pain that follows it. It is like a flower dying, one fallen petal at the time.

The Rhinos are lucky, many charities have their cause at heart. Who is defending your dreams? Who is fighting for you to express your full potential? Who is having your back? Who is encouraging you? How are you motivating yourself to continue when there are no visible results yet? How are you keeping your mind positive? How do you relax?

Using your talents means expressing your creativity. Communicating your unique views can be scary, unconventional, provocative. It takes us out of our comfort zone. What if you know nothing about your creative-self? How do you make room for him/ her in your adult life? How do you cope with the judgement of your family members? Who wants to be called crazy?

Here is something to consider: we may have many lives to live. There is only one certitude: you are here now. What are doing with this amazing opportunity to explore? You have a hunch? Try it. It doesn’t work, try again using the lessons you’ve learned. Think about how many times a toddler falls before being able to find his balance and walk confidently. Connect with your fearless inner child. Feed your wobbly effort with its energetic curiosity and have fun during your investigations.

The reward of having the courage to become who you truly are? Freedom! You’ve finally let the genius out of the lamp!

No regrets during your old days!

Not to mention Happiness and Joy!

Now, how does all that relate to the hair?

Well, when you are living the plenitude of your natural potential, you may experience less stress than if you feel unfulfilled. Stress remains one of the major causes of hair loss.

So, do you want to keep your natural crown? Identify and voice your endangered talents. Please keep in touch (hello@adilabeauty.com): I want to know how your courage and perseverance transformed your life.

With much love,

Adila
