“Listen to the colours of your dreams.” The Beatles

December 5, 2018

Colours are fascinating, they permeate our lives, our environment, our perceptions, our emotions, our health and beauty. Most Plants and trees mark the end of a season by changing the colour of their foliage. The transition in Autumn especially, produces a beautiful cocktail of leaves.

In Yoga practice, energetic centers called chakras are located in our body along a vertical line that spans from the sacral area to the pineal gland. Each chakra has an unique colour and is connected to specific organs. Physical imbalance is explained as an obstruction of an energetic center or multiple energetic centers. A balanced diet, meticulous exercises and “colour meditation” are all necessary to bring the body back to equilibrium.

The psychology of colour teaches us how it impacts on our moods and emotions. Have you noticed it? Apparently, we unconsciously pick up our clothes because their colours match our state of mind or according to the impact we want to have on a given audience.

Eating healthy, means having a diversity of food. A colourful plate, is usually a good sign of variety. The recommendation to consume five different fruits and vegetables daily is another “colour testimony”.
